Three Refreshing Kid-Friendly Lemonade Recipes

Hot summer days full of sunshine are the perfect time for a nice, cool, refreshing drink.

If you’re looking for something a little lighter than a cone full of ice cream or just want to skip the drive to your local snow cone stand, then a glass of fresh-squeezed lemonade is just what you need!

I’ve compiled a few of my family’s favorites lemonade recipes to share with you.

3 Refreshing Kid-Friendly Lemonade Recipes

Lemon, Lemony, Lemonade

Ingredients:

  • 6 lemons
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 6 cups cold water

Directions:

  1. Squeeze the lemons until you have 1 cup of juice.
  2. In a pitcher add your cup of lemon juice, 1 cup sugar, and 6 cups cold water, stir. 
  3. Chill and serve over ice.

Lavender Lemonade

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups of water
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1.5 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons dried lavender flowers
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ice cups

Directions:

  1. Bring 2 cups of water and sugar to a boil. Remove from heat, add lavender. Cover and let stand for 2-4 hours.
  2. Strain, discarding lavender. Stir in lemon juice, vanilla, and remaining water. 
  3. Chill and serve over ice.

Watermelon Lemonade

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 4 cups cubed watermelon
  • 3 cups cold water
  • ½ cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • ice cubes

Directions:

  1. Add the watermelon to a blender and puree until smooth. Pour through a fine-mesh strainer.
  2. Bring sugar and ½ cup water to a boil until sugar dissolved. Remove from heat. Stir in 3 cups of cold water and lemon juice.
  3.  Place ice cubes in your glasses, scoop 3 tablespoons of watermelon puree over the ice, then top with the lemonade. Gently stir before serving.
