Today we want to introduce you to our Bloom Experts Panel! Do you have a question about managing pain during childbirth? Or how to know whether it’s the baby blues or something more serious? Maybe you want to know about when the best age is to potty train your child, or the best tips for getting in shape. Write those questions down while you’re thinking about them and bring them to Bloom Moms Night Out! Our experts will be ready to answer them.
Meet the Experts: Bloom Moms Night Out Expert Panel
Shannon Wilson, LMHC, PMH-C
Dr. Ashlee L. Enzinger, MD, FAAP, CAQSM
Ashlee L. Enzinger, MD, FAAP, CAQSM is a Clinical Assistant Professor, Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician at the University of Iowa Health Care. She is an expert in sports injuries, musculoskeletal trauma, and injury prevention. Dr. Enzinger received her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. She completed a residency in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Bree Herring, ARNP, CNM
Bree Herring, ARNP, CNM, DNP is a Certified Nurse-Midwife and Clinical Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology-Midwifery at the University of Iowa Health Care. She is an expert in assisting with procedures such as newborn delivery and VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). Dr. Herring received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Frontier Nursing University in Lexington, Kentucky. She received her master’s degree in Nursing at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Pam Hoogerwerf Received her BA from the University of Iowa in Broadcasting Journalism and Public Health. She began her role at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital in 2008 as Program Manager of the Pediatric Injury Prevention and Community Outreach division. She has obtained special certification in injury prevention and is a certified child passenger safety technician. She leads all of the injury prevention program task force teams including safe sleep, bike safety, firearm safety, ATV safety to name a few. She oversees the Safety Store, where customers can receive education regarding their needs to keep their children safe in and outside of the home. The Safety Store carries products including UppaBaby, BOB strollers, Britax, HALO swaddles and bassinets and many more. She is passionate about keeping kids safe and enjoys traveling the state promoting messages related to that.
Dr. Jill Flory
Dr. Jill Flory graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, IA in 1988 with a B.S. in Biology and Psychology and a minor in Chemistry. She then spent 2 years as a research assistant at the College of Medicine before attending medical school at the University of Iowa College of Medicine. Dr. Flory graduated from medical school in 1994 and completed her family practice residency from the Cedar Rapids Medical Education Program in 1997. She is board certified in family medicine and joined Family Medicine Specialists, P.C. in 1997.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Wayne, and daughter. She and her husband often travel to St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN to watch their daughter’s chorus performances.
Dr. Beth Pfohl
Dr. Beth Pfohl attended and graduated from the University of Iowa in 2000 with a B.S. in civil engineering. She then graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2006 with an M.S. in civil engineering. After practicing as an engineer for 8 years and working in the non-profit field at the Ronald McDonald House for 8 years, she attended the University of Iowa College of Dentistry where she received a D.D.S in 2019 and completed her Pediatric Dental residency in 2021.
Dr. Pfohl is a board-eligible pediatric dentist and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Pfohl enjoys traveling, reading, running and biking, and spending time with family and friends.
Renee Bullis, PT, DPT
Renee Bullis is an orthopedic and pelvic floor physical therapist. She has undergone post-doctoral training in pelvic floor rehab, orthopedics, and sports medicine. Renee is a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist and is pursuing her Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism Coaching Certificate. She has a strong passion for educating, empowering, and supporting women in all phases of life, especially through pregnancy and postpartum. One of her favorite parts about her job is helping women be active and do the things they want to do without pain or limitation.
When not in the clinic, Renee stays busy with her twin toddlers, husband, and fur-toddler, Archie. A few of her other loves include group fitness, a good cup of coffee, a craft brew, all dogs, the Great British Baking Show, and just about any activity outside.
Dr. Hannah Anderson
Through the BIRTHFIT Cedar Rapids Postpartum Series, Dr. Hannah Anderson helps women heal after giving birth. She helps nourish women in regards to nutritional, emotional, and physical health by addressing the whole person rather than pieces. She is certified by the ICPA in pediatric and maternal health care, trained in Neuroemotional Technique, Mercier Therapy, DNS, and passionate about helping women preconception through postpartum. Hannah also co-owns Well Labs, a nutrition company on a mission to give back. She’s excited to answer your questions on exercise, core, and pelvic health in the prenatal and postpartum stages of life.
Dr. Mary Hagerty, PT, DPT
“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel,” is a quote that guides each interaction with Dr. Mary. As a dancer since she was 4 years old, her own injuries and PT experience inspired her to become one herself, helping dancers, postpartum women, and even individuals in their 50s and 60s. As a traveling PT, she treated clients all over the country, so her experience helping all kinds of humans is a true gift. She believes the things we love to do and the people we share those things with are life-giving and aims to help clients feel confident and capable in doing the things they love to do. Known for using a lot of gestures when she talks or tells a story, she’s usually laughing at herself in the process.

Dr. Matthew Dietz D.C., C.C.S.P.
Dr. Dietz has a passion for helping people reach their God-given potential in life and has dedicated his practice, Discover Health Chiropractic, to removing interference so people can get healthy and stay healthy for the rest of their lives. He is part of a global network of doctors at the forefront of healthcare. Dr. Dietz has received advanced certifications in spinal correction, nutrition, and fitness, and is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician. He has served as the chiropractor for Team USA Wrestling and adjusted athletes in the 2012 Olympics in London as well as the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
